Updating Your Smartpen Software with the USB Cable

You can update your smartpen software using the Micro-USB Cable.

1. Make sure your computer can connect to the internet. Start your web browser to test it.
2. Launch Livescribe Helper on your Mac or Windows computer.

   In Windows, go to Start > All Programs > Livescribe > Livescribe Helper.

   On Mac, locate Livescribe Helper under Applications.

3. Connect the Micro-USB cable to your smartpen and your computer.
4. Click the Install button to download and install the latest smartpen software, if a software update is available.
5. Wait until the smartpen screen displays "Success" and Livescribe Helper displays a Continue button.
   Important: Do not disconnect the smartpen from the computer before the update is complete! An incomplete update can make your smartpen inoperable.
   The smartpen will reboot when the new software has been installed.
