JavaOne Conference 2008 HighlightsFollowing Jim’s demonstration, a crowd of attendees literally rose from their seats and packed our Show Device kiosk to purchase their own Pulse smartpen It started out with an invitation from Sun to participate in JavaOne 2008 just a couple of months before the show. It turned out to be much more. To start things off, Livescribe won a coveted Duke’s Choice Award in the mobile device category. The entire week of the show, Java developers packed our booths to experience the Pulse smartpen and learn more about the development opportunities. In addition, our Developer Competition gave JavaOne developers a sneak peek at our Java API and early development tools. In just 48 hours, developers created award-winning Pulse smartpen applications using our tools. Finally, on the final day of the conference, Livescribe CEO Jim Marggraff participated in James Gosling’s keynote speech. Following Jim’s demonstration, hundreds of attendees left their seats and stood in long, snaking lines to purchase their own Pulse smartpens at our Show Device kiosk. We are incredibly excited to see the response of the Java developer community to developing for the Livescribe Platform. |
