Senior Hardware Quality & Reliability Engineer
We are seeking a "hands on" Senior Hardware Quality and Reliability Engineer who is a high energy, quality minded individual who has been involved in multiple product development and launch cycles and exudes enthusiasm for product quality bordering on evangelism!
The Senior Hardware Quality and Reliability Engineer's primary responsibility is to identify the current status of the project and to develop the tests necessary to identify potential issues. The engineer will work with engineering to reduce or resolve these potential failures through the implementation of testing protocols. In addition, the ideal candidate will develop and implement long term company wide policies and procedures, and recruit and secure resources and staff to ensure the design and release of high quality, high reliability products to the marketplace.
This candidate will be responsible for testing and qualifying engineering designs at various points along the product development path, reliability and long term testing of final product as well as directing and managing contractors that provide consulting servicing, facilities for testing and burn-in, including environmental and agency testing.
Responsibilities:
- Provide early involvement support during product definition and engineering development to ensure designed in quality and reliability.
- Manage all agencies testing to FCC Standards, EMI/EMC, UL, CE, and ASTM.
- Collaborate with software QA to establish governing product standards.
- Define HW QA Reliability test which will be supplemental to DVT and should be effective for exposure of the HW design and Reliability issues.
- Report bugs to developers and maintains documentation of test results; ensure closure; analyze test results and provide reports.
- Provide review of all test data and establish release criteria for all products entering manufacturing.
- Ensure the various developmental and final versions of hardware meet the product PRD and Functional Specs before releasing to prototype and or manufacturing and passes all reliability and quality tests.

- Support engineering with design review leveraging the best and brightest SMEs and suppliers.
- Plan and implement testing strategies and procedures.

- Develop, maintain, and upgrade test plans.
- Manage third party contractors implementing test and burn-in procedures.
- Analyze product deficiencies and test results.
- Ensure customers' needs are being met per functional specifications.
- Utilize defect tracking software to report and record status of testing.

- Develop standards and procedures by determining minimum requirements for production release, establishing escalation guidelines, communicating processes to development team.
- Assist in testing releases by planning test cycles, tracking test results and informing development of any issues. Accurately document defects, validate fixes, and update defects.
- Provide management with test case coverage and defect metrics to substantiate release recommendations.
- Work with other members of the team to improve our processes, tools, methods, effectiveness and efficiency.
Minimum Requirements
- 10+ years of previous experience as a QA/Reliability Engineer working with development teams in a hardware testing environment
- Working knowledge of FCC Standards, EMI/EMC, as well as UL, CE, MIL STd's and ASTM standards
- Experience with multiple product development lifecycles
- Experience in creating formal test plans and documenting test results
- Experience with cable stress testing and failure and analysis
- Strong working knowledge and understanding of QA process and methodology
- Experience with complete project life cycle of analysis, design, implementation, testing and regression testing
- Proficiency in Windows and Linux environments
- Experience with setup and configuration of hardware and troubleshooting
- Ability to handle multiple priorities, in a fast paced environment while working as part of a team and to apply creative solutions to complex problems.

Senior Systems Administrator
Livescribe is looking for an experienced Senior Unix Systems Administrator that is seeking a challenging, fast paced environment in an early stage, revenue generating, cutting edge technology company! In this key role, the Sr. System Administrator will help guide and support the company’s rapidly growing online community by implementing and supporting world class infrastructure.
In this position, you will be responsible for all levels of support, which includes troubleshooting uncommon issues, installing, configuring and maintaining all systems related to our service. In addition, you will perform capacity planning, upgrades for Mac OS X Server and installing, configuring and maintaining all application systems related to the service.
You will also be responsible for taking the lead role in investigating appropriate technologies to support our growth as well as architecting new solutions to improve on line reliability and performance. The majority of our current systems are OS X Xserve servers and the applications running on those servers are a mix of standard software packages as well as internally developed applications.

Responsibilities:
- Logging support cases in our CRM system
- Populating our knowledgebase with identified issues and communicating to the customer via email, chat, forum, and telephone

Reporting to Chief Financial Officer, the Manager of Human Resources will serve as the senior HR expert, a generalist to the executive staff, and the primary employee relations interface for the entire company.
Responsibilities:
- Directing the planning, development, implementation, and administration of Livescribe's compensation and benefits, performance measurement, recruitment, training and development, and employee relations programs
- Managing relationships with external regulatory agencies when necessary to ensure compliance with regulations and all reporting requirements

Qualifications:

Lab Administrator / Master Technician
We are looking for a Senior Technician that has excellent fine-pitch assembly skills, problem solving and organization skills, and has a passion for building exciting products. As a member of the hardware engineering team your technical expertise, ability to debug, and excellent communication skills will be key factors in enabling you to successfully create the future generations of smartpens.
Responsibilities:
- Prototype, rework and debug new Smartpen designs.
- Manage laboratory operations and equipment.
- Participate in product tests and certifications
- Create records to track problems and engineering designs.
- Build and maintain test tools to ensure product quality.
- Initiate and follow up on activities with local vendors
Qualifications:
- Two or more years of experience in assembly or rework of fine pitch printed circuit boards.
- Fluent in reading schematics and debugging printed circuit boards.
- Good organizational skills for design documentation and problem tracking.
- Working knowledge of common laboratory practices (calibration, maintenance, components stock)
- Good interpersonal skills to work with engineers locally, overseas, and at vendors.

We are looking for a Mac Program Manager who will be responsible for Program Management activities to deliver the Livescribe Mac 1.0 Desktop solution, with the potential for managing other programs on an as-needed basis.

- Responsible for leading global, cross functional team to deliver the Livescribe Mac Desktop 1.0 product.

Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree in general technical field and 5-7 years related experience, or equivalent combination of training and experience, or Masters Degree
- Successful track record in delivering complex software and/or platform products to marketing using industry best practices & methodologies. Experience in delivering consumer products is desirable.
- Deep knowledge in waterfall, agile & extreme programming methodologies
- Experience in MS Project or equivalent project management & capacity planning tools

Senior Mac SQA Engineer
We are looking for a Senior Mac SQA Engineer who has a passion for technology and enjoys partnering with developers to resolve issues and create solutions. The primary responsibility of this position is to ensure the quality of the Engineering releases as designed in the Specifications and Requirements by the Product Marketing team, test planning and execution, and to help define, implement and refine best practices for software testing on the Mac platform.
Responsibilities:
- Testing of our Smartpen and Mac desktop application.
- Work closely with engineering and product marketing teams on reviewing and understanding functional requirements.
- Participate in software requirements and implementation design reviews.
- Develop test plans and write test cases to be implemented. Recommend appropriate SQA tools for developing, running tests, and analyzing results. Develop and maintain test plan and test case framework and templates.
- Execute manual and automated tests, report and analyze results. Assess and report severity and priority of problems found during validation cycles, by considering all angles of the problem space including customer perception, functionality, usability, performance, etc.
- Coordinate and Lead an offshore/offsite test team.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience testing complex Mac & Windows desktop software applications and/or consumer electronics devices. Demonstrated increase in responsibilities over time.
- Strong knowledge and application of SQA processes and testing methodologies is essential.
- Full software development lifecycle (SDLC) SQA experience and understanding of the bug lifecycle.
- Minimum 4+ years testing web & client based software applications.
- Minimum 3+ years experience in back-end white box testing (command line, flat files, loading/verification, reports)
- Minimum 2+ years of hands-on designing and developing automation tests and execution utilizing Test Complete, Mercury WinRunner/QTP, Load Runner, or equivalent.
- Minimum 2+ years of programming/scripting experience required. Obj-C, Java, Perl, C# is a strong plus.
- Working knowledge of relational databases SQL, MSSQL and MySQL
- Ability to multi-task in a fast paced, dynamic small start-up environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills as exemplified by clear issue explanations, documentation and effective cross-functional team communications.
Nice to have, but not required:
- Administration of defect & test case management systems is a plus.
- Experience in leading an off-site test team
